    Great opportunity available for an Afternoon Supervisor in the Kitchener area

    Afternoon Shift Supervisor:

    • Shift: Monday to Friday 3pm-11pm
    • Salary: 75k-80k/yr
    • Perks: 3 weeks vacation to start, benefits, excellent company culture

    Responsible for ensuring that the shift operates with a safety focus culture, that quality targets and the production schedule are met. Maximize plant efficiency and meet customer requirements, including cycle times, appropriate set-up times, and press operator ratios. They will be overseeing 30+ associates

    Responsibilities:

    • Supervision of all hourly plant employees on night shift, including employee coaching, discipline, and work assignment.
    • Ensure all employees receive necessary training to perform duties effectively.
    • Decision-making and problem-solving on mechanical or technical issues during night shift.
    • Participate in production troubleshooting, ensure cycle times are met, and coordinate with other shifts for good communication.
    • Implement Lean Manufacturing initiatives.
    • Continuous improvement, scrap reduction, and variation reduction.
    • Problem-solving process to identify and eliminate root causes of production defects.
    • Promote and lead Kaizen and 5S initiatives.
    • Ensure quality standards are met as per the quality management system.
    • Provide a safe work environment, including instructions on safe operations and necessary equipment.
    • Ensure accuracy and completeness of production paperwork.
    • Oversee stock movements and shipping duties for accurate inventory levels.
    • Other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    • Supervisory experience in automotive manufacturing is critical.
    • Proven experience in maintaining a safety-focused workplace.
    • Interpersonal skills for coaching and training employees.
    • Understanding of customer requirements and quality systems in automotive and packaging.
    • Understanding of collective labour agreements, unionized plant experience preferred.
    • Computer skills for tracking orders and maintaining inventory records with Excel.
    • Organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Desire to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
