Job Purpose:

The Machine Mechanical Assembly is a member of the Production Team. Primary responsibility is to ensure the production plan, as outlined by the supervisor is followed. Ensures that the machine assembly processes are effective and efficient and efficient.

Responsibilities:

Follow production drawings, build summaries and assembly instruction sheets or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed
Work closely with other departments with respect to design, build and troubleshooting of prototype machines
Use cutting tolls, equipment, hand and power tolls to accomplish assembly tasks
Use a variety of measuring instruments and devices as well as material handling devices
Plan and layout assembly sequence and procedures for specified parts
Assemble components and subassemblies
Visually inspect parts for obvious defects, damage, cracks, burrs or missing features
Report all machining or design errors and improper part files to supervisor so that the problems can be addressed
Maintain good work habits and demonstrate good work ethic
Perform other duties or temporary jobs as may be assigned due to changing workloads and manpower requirements
Perform inspections of assemblies and subassemblies during the building of the machines, and a complete inspection of the machines prior to commissioning
Establish a safe working environment by following the company's guidelines with regard to the safe use of lifting devises, use of solvents, etc., on the plant floor and following proper lock out procedures
