This underground operation is located just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa in Northern Ontario.

Through ongoing exploration success, Island Gold's Mineral Reserves and Resources have continued to grow in size and quality, and Alamos is now investing in a major expansion project which is expected to transform Island into one of the largest and most profitable mines in Canada with an 18-year mine life.

The role of the Maintenance Planner is:

  • Help improve work force safety.
  • Use Industry Planning and Scheduling methods.
  • Working effectively with the execution team (Supervisors and Leadhands)
  • Delivering & Scheduling Quality Work Orders by:
  • Anticipating and eliminating potential delays.
  • Coordination of labor, parts, materials, specialized tooling, and specialized
equipment.

  • Create job plans to ensure & extend the equipment life.
  • Help with the reduction of maintenance cost & improve productivity.

Safety and Sustainability Expectations:


  • Creates a valid and accurate weekly maintenance schedule for all mobile/fixed equipment under the Mobile Department's care.
  • Ensures safety procedures, including lockout/tagout procedures are available to employees.
  • Ensures that all aspects of the existing company safety policy are incorporated into job plan.
  • Employee must always work safe and be proactive towards safety issues regarding
himself and other co-workers.

  • Employee must report all safety related concerns to supervisor.
  • Attend daily morning lineup meetings and Monthly safety meet.

Responsibilities:


  • Managing maintenance data collection and information gathering to more effectively
provide the planned maintenance service in future.

  • Maximizing equipment reliability through using planned maintenance most effectively.
  • Responsible for initial screening of incoming work orders, identification of scope, and
analysis of required level of planning

  • Conducts field walk downs to identify and document job requirements.
  • Identifies specific safety hazards that will be encountered in the performance of the
proposed work.

  • Estimates required hours on work orders tasks, total work order duration, and skills
required to perform the task.

  • Plan and/or schedule jobs with appropriate level of detail for the given skilled trades
workforce

  • Procures equipment, parts, and specialized tools to perform work.
  • Create and Maintain Maintenance Plans in SAP
  • Create and Maintain Equipment BOMs in SAP
  • Create and Maintain Equipment Task lists in SAP

Requirements:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Shaft Maintenance would be an asset.
  • Light Vehicle Maintenance Background would be an asset.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt would be an asset.
  • Minimum 5 years work experience in the skilled trades.
  • Strong mechanical/electrical aptitude.
  • Some level of supervisory experience is desirable.
  • A minimum of 35 years in similar position.
  • Supervision experience would be preferred

  • Computer skills required:
  • EAM/CMMS, FIORI
  • Spreadsheet and Word
  • Processing (Excel, Word, PowerPoint )
  • Project Management Software (MS Project, Primavera, S.A.P., etc.)
  • VISIO, SharePoint, OneDrive, OneNote
  • Able to efficiently perform internet searches and research.
  • Able to read and interpret vendor manuals and drawings.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively with shop floor personnel, vendors, OEM suppliers, and management personnel.
  • Able to perform some level of cost analysis and work within a structured budget.
  • Ability to write detailed repair reports.
  • Able to develop and deliver a clear and concise presentation when required.
