Position Description:

Cross Agency Clinical Services and Interprofessional Clinical Services at Surrey Place are seeking a Psychologist.

Reporting to the Manager, Interprofessional Clinical Teams, the Psychologist works as part of an interdisciplinary team and provides psychological services to children with confirmed or suspected developmental disabilities, and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) to assist in identifying the developmental, cognitive and communicative status of the child.

Services provided include but are not limited to assessment, psychotherapy, consultation, research, education, clinical supervision, and advocacy.

This position supports work with Cross Agency Clinical Services and partner agencies through our Service for Partners and Organizations Department.


Main Responsibilities:


  • Provide psychological assessment, written reports, and recommendations for children.
  • Provide counselling, play, didactic and psychotherapy interventions to individuals, families, and groups.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to provide both assessment and treatment services.
  • Provide consultation regarding psychological services to individuals, families, partner agencies, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide psychological supervision of Psychology Interns.
  • Hours of operation include ability to work some evenings and Saturdays.

Qualifications:


  • PhD or Psy.
D in Psychology

  • Registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
  • 3 years' clinical experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge in clinical interviewing, diagnosis and formulation, consultation; knowledge of typical and atypical lifespan development; knowledge of specialized interventions, familiarity with a broad range of psychometric tools and principles; and statistical knowledge.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; strong interpersonal, problem solving; and time management skills.
  • Provide psychological assessment, written reports, and recommendations for children.
  • Provide counselling, play, didactic and psychotherapy interventions to individuals, families, and groups.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to provide both assessment and treatment services.
  • Provide consultation regarding psychological services to individuals, families, partner agencies, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide psychological supervision of Psychology Interns.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Fluency in French is considered an asset.
