Freud Canada is experiencing tremendous growth and has an exciting opportunity for an Operations Manager to lead Distribution Center Operations into the future. The Operations Manager will also lead a strategic initiative to support this tremendous growth with a new WMS warehouse system upgrade.


The Operations Manager also provides leadership for all Distribution Center activities in a high energy, fast paced, quality focused environment and has ultimate responsibility for meeting all Distribution Center KPIs including safety, quality, productivity, labour management and cost.


The Operations Manager will be tasked to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance quality, delivering on the spot performance feedback, developing talent, oversight of new hire training, updating and/or creating work instructions and approving overtime.


Administrative duties include but are not limited to Labour Management Tracking, managing vendor performance and cost, ensuring reliable carrier performance, managing associate time keeping, reviewing/approving invoices, management of associate progressive discipline, performing annual performance reviews, ensuring expediting orders meet customer expectations, supporting Inside Sales, HSE, FCM, identifying/correcting WMS issues through project requests, and leading inventory management initiatives.


Ensures operations leadership and personnel perform all inventory and operational transactions in accordance to Freud policy and procedures in order to maintain a high level of inventory accuracy in the WMS.


Job Description This is a full-time on site role located in Mississauga, ON.**- Lead the WMS Transition for Freud Canada warehouse Operations

  • Responsible for identifying and implementing modern distribution center technologies and processes
  • Responsible for all operations and distribution activities and delivering results on KPIs
  • Identify team members struggling to consistently meet KPI targets, provide feedback, coach and develop to improve performance
  • Perform root cause analysis within the WMS to assist with to resolve inventory and/or transactional issues
  • Support a team atmosphere that embraces the Freud Vision and Mission and the inclusion of associates' ideas in order to enhance the performance of the warehouse operation
  • Make certain all Freud policies and procedures are enforced at all times

Qualifications Education & Work Experience**:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or similar field
  • 7+ years' experience in logistics, SCM (Supply Chain Management) or distribution center operation
  • 35 years' experience in leading operational units
  • Extended knowledge in AS400 and WMS systems
  • Some flexibility in schedule required depending on production demands

  • Leadership displays a strong drive for results and the ability to deal with ambiguity
  • Ability to prioritize in the face of ambiguity
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate both up and down the organization structure
  • Knowledgeable in all areas of Warehouse processes
  • Ability to coach and mentor team members
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ability to train others on Operations Processes and Procedures
  • Ability to input, analyze and understand computer based WMS system transactions

Physical Requirements:


  • Incumbents will routinely be exposed to equipment operational noise
  • Incumbents will be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, climb ladders, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods, as required by job duties.
  • Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (WSIB, OHSA, Provincial and Federal regulations, etc.).
