The Marketing and Communications Department (MarCom) at the UBC Sauder School of Business leads initiatives to build the brand and reputation of the school, both in domestic and global markets, and develops marketing and communication strategies to promote business objectives, including recruitment, student experience, fundraising and alumni and community engagement.
The Digital Strategist plays a key role in optimizing the recruitment and acquisition marketing initiatives and capabilities within MarCom.
Reporting to the Associate Director, Digital Experience, the Strategist works collaboratively with marketing and communications team members and business unit partners throughout UBC Sauder to elevate and maintain the long-term strategic value of the school's digital channels.
Organizational StatusWork Performed
Digital Strategy- Continuously evaluates and implements improvements to digital channel strategy under the guidance and direction of the Associate Director, Digital Experience.- Researches and informs UBC Sauder's approach to current and upcoming legislation, policy, trends and issues within the global digital marketing landscape.- Works in partnership with agency and business unit team members to analyze and leverage end user data to better optimize and target UBC Sauder's marketing initiatives.- Suggests, designs and implements digital channel projects to increase recruitment and acquisition marketing ROI.
Project Management- Develops and implements digital channel projects aimed at improving and enhancing UBC Sauder's marketing capabilities and ensuring the school is compliant with new and existing government legislation and university policy.- Provides end-to-end project management for relevant digital projects from scoping to delivery and debrief.
Campaign Management- Develops and manages internal paid digital media and social media campaigns for recruitment and acquisition.- Manages always-on search engine marketing campaigns in collaboration with the Marketing and Communications leadership team and partner agencies.- Identifies target audiences and understands their behavior and habits in alignment with business unit and agency partners.
