  • As a member of the Payroll team, you will be instrumental in helping process payroll information through the preparation of accurate and timely employee payrolls by conducting analysis and reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies, and providing high quality customer service. We are looking for a strong collaborator to help us continue to build our commitment to the processing of accurate and timely records, and exceptional experiences for our employee and student community. You will work with a team of talented payroll professionals an engaged community and an impactful executive team.

    What you'll do
  • Process all pertinent payroll information for all University employees accurately and within strict deadlines.
  • Generate reports and processes salary adjustments such as scheduled increases, vacation pay, overtime, sick leave, temporary assignments, increments, stipends, shift differential, leave of absences, and collective agreement settlements and generate the appropriate pay transaction.
  • Prepare and reconcile various remittances and reports in order to meet CRA, WSBC, Service Canada, and Statistics Canada requirements, and makes remittance payments.
  • Prepare monthly reports to various government, union, and financial agencies. Assist in the preparation of annual and ad hoc reports within specific timelines, including reports for BC Pension Corporation, United Way, Foundation, MoveUP, CFA and the University's yearend financial statements and budget requirements.
  • Prepare journal entries to record all salary payments and deductions per payroll records and reconciles to G/L.

What you'll bring

  • Payroll Complicance Practitioner (PCP) certification or completion of a twoyear diploma with a concentration in accounting or equivalent.
  • Three years of directly related job experience.
