We are looking for a compassionate, caring Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) with a passion for the elderly to join our team at one of our beautiful Long-Term Care Facilities.

Details:
Permanent Full time Monday-Friday.

Compensation:
$27.07 per hour

Responsibilities:

Assists residents with established rehabilitative activities such as mobility, strengthening, balance and range of motion exercises, walking programs and activities of daily living as directed.
Demonstrates to residents and assists in the use of exercise equipment such as pulley system, parallel bars, passive trainers and other therapeutic aids/ equipment.
Assists residents in dressing and toilet needs as required in preparation for and following rehabilitative activity; assists with resident lifting / transfers and positioning as directed.
Reports observations of resident's progress and responses to treatment program to
Physiotherapist and Occupational Therapist. Communicates concerns and / changes to resident's condition.
Porters patients to and from the Physical Therapy area utilizing mechanical aids such as wheelchairs and walkers.
Sets up and organizes furnishing and equipment for related activities as directed; cleans and maintains equipment and reports malfunctioning equipment to the Physiotherapist.
Other duties as assigned by manager.

Qualifications:

-
Completion of a Rehabilitation Assistant or related Program plus one years' recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work as a team member and to work effectively with others.
Ability to organize work.
Ability to operate related equipment.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
