    Description

    Jr Realtime Digital Control System Software/Systems Designer

    Location: Mississauga, ON

    Your Role:

    • Develop test and development tools, ensuring they meet safety-critical software requirements.
    • Execute software engineering tasks, including specification, design, coding, verification, testing, and documentation.
    • Evaluate computer hardware and develop procedures for implementing products into software design, development, and validation processes.
    • Support planning activities for computerized safety, control, and monitoring systems design, verification, and testing.
    • Assist in creating work scopes, design and quality requirements, and design plans for various stages of computer systems development.
    • Participate in concept design of safety, control, and monitoring computer systems, defining system requirements, architecture, and evaluating performance and reliability.
    • Develop guides and procedures following international standards for quality software in safety applications.
    • Utilize programming languages such as IEC 61131-3, C, C++, VHDL, Fortran, Pascal, Visual Studio, LabView, XML, and Photon to develop software and scripts.
    • Test script development using in-house scripting languages.
    • Update Computers Engineering design documents, including software requirements specifications, software design descriptions, and software manuals.
    • Deliver technical presentations effectively.
    • Manage assigned work, prioritizing, executing, managing schedule and budget, and reporting to meet project goals.

    Requirements:

    • Honours degree in a relevant field of engineering or computer science from a recognized university.
    • 5-8 years of experience in a computer controls environment.
    • Familiarity with software design/development based on industry guidelines is an asset.
    • Demonstrate strong technical skills and problem-solving capabilities.
