Role Description:


Join our dynamic finance and operations team as an Assistant Controller, where you'll play a pivotal role in the seamless functioning of our finance department.

Take charge of the day-to-day operations, owning the monthly reporting cycle and ensuring the books are closed with precision.

Working closely with the VP of Finance, you'll not only be a key player in the day-to-day financial landscape but will also actively contribute to diverse projects such as treasury management, budgeting, forecasting, and investor reporting.

This role provides a unique opportunity for someone who thrives on autonomy, seeking to spearhead all aspects of daily operations and reporting within a finance department.

Responsibilities:


  • Manage the daytoday operations, overseeing cash, and handling the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely recording of all transactions in our accounting system (Xero).
  • Process semimonthly payroll, ensuring compliance with regulations and handling monthly source deduction remittances.
  • Oversee compliance with all accounting policies, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and completeness.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits to ensure a smooth and efficient process.
  • Plan and actively participate in the annual financial budgeting process.
  • Manage the financial monthend process, including recording transactions, journal entries, reconciling account balances, and preparing monthly reports.
  • Perform monthly analysis of budgettoactual variances to identify key insights and areas for improvement.
  • Assist with process improvements and contribute to information system upgrades and implementations.
  • Handle other adhoc tasks and projects as required, showcasing adaptability and a proactive approach.

Requirements:


  • Professional accounting designation.
  • 3+ year's accounting experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of the team.
  • Experience with full cycle accounting and bookkeeping practices.
  • Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail paramount.
  • Proficiency in Xero or similar accounting software.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
