Job Summary:
This role is responsible for providing all facets of administrative support for citywide inspection services, effectively and efficiently. This role assists in coordinating the delivery of inspection services in accordance with Corporate, Departmental, Divisional, Sectional policies, practices, procedures and timeline standards, and ensures that all prescribed Building permit inspections, enforcement investigations and all other related inspections/investigations, are accurately assigned in accordance with the Building Code Act, and Ontario Building Code
Duties and Responsibilities:
- To ensure all prescribed Building Permit inspections are assigned accurately
- Ensure that other inspection services (i.e. liquor licence, occupancy prior) as well as complaint investigations relating to illegal and unsafe construction are assigned within quality/timeliness standards.
- Assess requests, redirecting if required to appropriate department or return to 311 for followup action
- Provide technical guidance and assistance to external clients (how to look up information utilising the online services re: permit status, inspection processes, compliance information, permit process, second unit registration)
- Create, maintain and rectify all complaint and order files both in MAX and the office hard copy file
- Process and distribute all correspondence (letters, drawings, reports, files) received and prepare registered mail (as well as printing of registered mail receipts)
- Ensure that Court Information and Summons are prepared in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure the violation status is correctly reflected to show "Forwarded to Legal"
- Assign permits to appropriate Inspection staff as per legislative requirements
- Coordinate MAX Building Permit inspection database to align with construction floors/units numbering, to ensure the accuracy in reporting of inspection results
Skills and Qualifications:
- Post Secondary education relating to Business and/or Legal Administration
- Minimum of 35 years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Has sound working knowledge of the building permit inspection process and related services
- Strong ability to multitask and deal effectively with all levels of staff and the public
- Excellent computer skills

$ 57, $ 77,051.00
