Course description:

This course will explore research on emerging digital models, learning pods, platforms, apps and policies that seek to further customize, enhance and bring greater equity to education through technology.

From the initiation of open courseware, to the inception of virtual reality, artificial intelligence, ALC classrooms, makerspaces and the "shared economy", this course will foster a culture of digital innovation to investigate, accelerate, test and study new possibilities and advancements in the field of educational technology.

Sessional dates of appointment:
May 1, 2023 to June 30, 2023


Salary:

Sessional Lecturer I - $9,182.42 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)

Sessional Lecturer I Long Term - $9,641.55 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)

Sessional Lecturer II - $9,826.96 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)

Sessional Lecturer II Long Term - $10,025.84 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)

Sessional Lecturer III - $10,060.93 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)

Sessional Lecturer III Long Term - $10,262.15 inclusive of vacation pay (0.5 FCE)

  • Please note that should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail._

Minimum qualifications:

Ph.
D. degree in Education or a closely related field is required, with specialization in educational technology or a related field.
Background in artificial intelligence, immersive technology, gaming, and virtual reality (VR) is required.


Preferred qualifications:

Experience teaching this course, or a similar course at the university level, is preferred.


Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II and Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12.
