Langley-based Shunt Driver - Bison Transport
Description
The Bison LifestyleSafety - Drivers have the Right to Decide and assess the situation to determine if it's safe to drive
Equipment - Bison tractors are on average under two years old; three years for trailers
Compensation - Safe mile bonus paid quarterly, regional premiums, fuel subsidy, benefits and more
Position Profile
- Monday to Thursday night shift between 1600 to 0400, 30minute unpaid lunch break
- Hourly rate: $ $2night premium
- Hours of work might change from time to time according to operational demands
- Reporting directly to the fleet maintenance manager and indirectly to terminal manager
- Essential responsibilities are trailer movement, trailer staging, trailer quickchecks, and trailer greasing, along with other general shop/yard duties
- Responsible for operation of the forklift and assisting on the dock when needed. Training will be provided.
- Works closely with fleet maintenance manager, city dispatch, maintenance and the warehouse on daily shunting activities
- Company Driver residing in Langley or immediate area
- Tractortrailer over the road driving experience, minimum 12 months
- Valid Class 1/AZ Licence is required
- Well organized and possess excellent customer service skills
- Reliable, flexible and punctual
- Comfortable backing in all manner of tight spaces and locations
