THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for aCookto join our The Gardens team in Qualicum Beach, B.C.

Shifts: full-time,

10:30am – 6:30pm, 5 days on 2 days off.

Responsibilities:

• Work with the Dietitian to prepare appropriate menus for the residents
• Lead the kitchen in preparing the main meals
• Order all food and supplies for the kitchen
• Monitor food cost and maintain budget
• Ensure safety and sanitation practices in the kitchen
• Request feedback from the residents about food preferences and menu development
• Prepare specialized and textured diets

Qualifications:

• experience working in a hotel/banquet/fine dining preferred
• experience in preparing specialized and textured diets preferred
• experience as a Food Nutrition and Support Manager preferred
• Red Seal or equivalent
• Proof of COVID vaccination
