Nelson River Construction is hiring a motivated Parts Purchaser to join our Equipment Division.

The Position:

This is a full-time position, that will be based out of the Nelson River Construction shop located at 101 Dawson Rd.

This position consist of 10 hour work days with a start time of 7am until 5pm.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Work with both mechanics and Department Superintendents/Foremen to order parts for field deliveries and components for equipment repairs.
Coordinate orders and deliveries with vendors, while building and maintaining positive business relationships with these vendors.
Issuing and receiving Purchase Orders.
Prepare, maintain, and review purchasing files, reports and price lists.
Processing Invoices
Purchasing heavyduty parts for large equipment through computer systems.
Manage inventory and organization of parts department.
Coordinate the ordering and distribution of Shop Consumables.
Determine the availability and lead times of parts.
Track, followup, and report back on ordered parts.
Monitor trends and counts of parts.

Qualifications:

Mechanical knowledge of construction equipment is considered an asset.
Possess strong organizational, management, oral and written communication skills.
Acts in a professional, courteous and cooperative manner toward vendors and coworkers in a demanding and fast paced environment with a great sense of urgency.
