Job Description:

This is a part-time professor position requiring the incumbent to deliver one or more 56-70-hour courses to diverse students in the Computer Programming Program.

Responsibilities will include course preparation, delivery and assessment of student work in accordance with College policies.

Courses Available:
CST7285- Web Programming

CST7284- Object Oriented Programming (Java)

We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic individuals with a passion for education to facilitate learning in Computer Programming. The courses will be May 9, 2023 through August 20, 2023. Classes are scheduled between 8am to 10pm on specific weekdays, to be determined.

Required Qualifications- Minimum three (3) year advanced diploma in Computer Programming;- Minimum five (5) years related work experience;- Demonstrated knowledge of student success strategies in a postsecondary setting;- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the use of educational technologies; experience in the development and delivery of hybrid and online curriculum is considered an asset;- Highly effective communication, presentation, and organizational skills;- Comfortable with the use of computer and educational technologies to align with the teaching competencies as set out in the Professor of the 21st Century document:

Evidence of commitment to the success of all learners.

While previous teaching experience is an asset, it is not required.

We provide an Introduction to Teaching at Algonquin College program as well as ongoing professional development opportunities that part-time faculty can pursue in their free time.

Anticipated Weekly Schedule: 5-8 hours a week
