    Description

    Your Opportunity:

    Reporting/accountable to the program/service manager, the Dental Hygienist - Clinical Lead is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of staff, programs and services within the Central Zone Oral Health Program. The Clinical Lead is responsible for mentoring, responding to clinical questions and coordinating ongoing skill development to deliver effective clinical services based on evidence and population needs across the Central Zone. Working within the mandate of the Oral Health Action Plan, this role coordinates the day-to-day planning, development, delivery and evaluation of programs and services for the assigned area.This position typically leads the Oral Health promotion team in providing evidence-informed services within program parameters and in adherence with Alberta Health Services (AHS) and other relevant legislation, standards, guidelines, policies, and procedures. The Clinical Lead participates in and implements quality improvement initiatives, program development, evaluation, and knowledge translation within the program. The Clinical Lead is a key participant in zone and provincial initiatives.The Clinical Lead advises the manager in the day-to-day operational decision-making, coordinates program orientation and professional development and provides input regarding staff and team performance. Daily coordination of the program may include workload utilization, scheduling, referral triage, prioritization, equipment management and interdisciplinary student placements.The Clinical Lead will also fulfill all duties outlined in the Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) job description at a reduced capacity to support the workload outlined above.

    Description:

    As a Dental Hygienist, you will provide clinical oral health care services, health promotion and preventive educational programs. You will examine and chart oral conditions, assess periodontal status, analyzes and interpret client's/patient's condition to develop a client/patient centered diagnosis/assessment and treatment plan. You will provide public education regarding oral health. You will develop and provide in-service and training sessions; dental screening and preventive dental services to schools and participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of oral health programs.

    Required Qualifications:

    Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Dental Hygienists (ACDH).

    Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:

    Degree in Dental Hygiene or other relevant specialization (eg. Public Health).Experience in developing policies, guidelines, and procedures.Demonstrated experience in leading and mentoring peers.Experience working in a Public Health environment.
