Immigration Law Clerk

PROFILE

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist professionals with legal matters in the areas of U.S. and Canadian immigration;
  • Work as part of a team with an immigration law clerk and legal administrative assistants to support the busy practices of the immigration professionals;
  • Contact USCIS, CBP and other government agencies with respect to client matters;
  • Attend relevant professional development opportunities on an ongoing basis to ensure excellent client service and skillset;
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years as a law clerk/paralegal specific to immigration is preferred;
  • Law clerk/paralegal diploma or equivalent law clerk experience is required;
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Immigration practices and procedures;
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills, including the ability to take initiative with little instruction;
  • Ability to handle a heavy and varied workload;
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the practice and legal professionals;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Excellent prioritization and organization skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated commitment to a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion is required.

Experience:
