    What is the opportunity? As the Executive Compensation Consultant, you will work closely with the Director, Executive Compensation and join a highly motivated team of HR professionals who are committed to creating exceptional experiences that enable RBC to attract, engage and retain talent. You will add value by providing strong thought partnership to HR senior-level executives and their respective leadership teams on all aspects of executive compensation. What will you do?
  • Act as a source of expertise for HR business partners and senior leaders on all aspects of executive compensation, ensuring they have a clear understanding of the financial impact and human capital impact of their HR decisions
  • Work collaboratively with HR business partners to design executive compensation recommendations
  • Manage third party market research, including the cost effective collection, modeling and analysis of compensation data, providing meaningful insights and action plans
  • Support the design, development and implementation of executive compensation solutions (salary, short, mid and long-term incentive programs) that support and align with RBC's strategies, related practices and programs
  • Produce scheduled and ad hoc compensation reports, working with HR and business partners to consolidate relevant data
  • Create, document and maintain databases to ensure appropriate management of year-end compensation activities
  • Drive efficiency and effectiveness through continuous process improvement, automation and streamlining
  • Proactively stay abreast of developments in the external market with whom we compete for business and talent, becoming an expert on relevant competitor compensation practices, key business strategies and responses to regulatory guidance

  • Are able to multitask and handle high-press executive level requests on a regular basis and with a strong attention to detail
  • Possess strong collaborative, team-work, relationship management skills with a demonstrated ability to impact, influence, and constructively challenge senior leaders
  • Are critical thinkers, able to look beyond request to get to root cause
  • Have a keen sense of numbers and strong analytical skills; able to analyze complex situations, understand issues, synchronize resources, identify options and integrate information from different sources into a coherent view
  • Are outcome-oriented, problem solvers who bring a bold and creative approach and focus on delivering business value
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills suitable for senior-level audiences
  • Seek out industry trends and organizational knowledge to discover and act on new approaches / ideas
  • Nice-to-haves:
  • 3+ years of experience in compensation preferably in the financial sector
  • University / College level education in Finance, Economics, Human Resources or a related field
  • Very strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, able to act independently
  • HR professional designation
  • Experience with internal consulting, including interacting with senior executives
