The Municipal Group of Companies, based in Bedford Nova Scotia, is a large, diversified organization engaged in all major aspects of the heavy civil construction, mining, and environmental services within the Atlantic Provinces.

We are currently seeking the expertise of a Program Administrator to join our team from our head office based in Bedford, NS.


Job Summary:


Reporting to the Program Manager, the Program Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Dexter Institute Private Career College as well as supporting the delivery of leadership programs within the Municipal Group of Companies.

The Program Administrator plays a critical role in the success of our programs by providing sound organizational and decision-making skills and having strong people management skills.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Program planning requires the Program Administrator to coordinate all activities leading up to program kickoff.

This includes, but is not limited to:
Track applicants
Schedule student interviews
Communicate with students
Provide support to instructors
Prepare course material
Create and managing student files

Program delivery requires the Program Administrator to administer the day-to-day activities required for successful delivery of our programs.

This includes, but is not limited to:
Act as first point of contact for students.
Assist instructors to ensure they have everything they need for successful delivery of their course.
Communicate regularly with the Program Manager to proactively address any issues that may arise.
Document creation and management -attendance records, annual reports, transcripts, and graduation certificates.
Act as main contact for numerous online portals for record keeping purposes.
Other duties as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience:
Experience working with a diverse group of individuals
Project management experience
Experience in delivering educational programs
Proficient with MS Office
High level of interpersonal communication
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Adaptable to changing environments
