Community Support Worker - Relief (Call-In)


Community Support Workers at Community Living Kincardine & District assist individuals with developmental disabilities in all aspects of their support plans, including living active lives in our community.

Our staff have helped individuals settle into new homes, plant and harvest in our community gardens, participate in awareness events at local public schools, and join public speaking workshops that took them on the air to share their stories Our staff also help individuals to reach their own personal goals like starting music lessons, participating in art classes, or learning how to ride a horse.

Responsibilities:


  • Provide personal care and cognitive, social and/or emotional support using a personcentered approach.
  • Provide assistance with a variety of household activities.
  • Prepare nutritious and varied meals, as determined by care plans, using proper food preparation, storage and hygiene practices.
  • Promote a safe environment for both staff and supported individuals.

Qualifications and Position Requirements:


  • Preference given to those who have a Developmental Service Worker Diploma (DSW) or comparable Human Services Diploma or Degree
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Must be flexible and available to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays.
  • Other requirements include: a clear criminal record check, valid G Driver's License, use of a reliable adequately insured vehicle, valid First Aid/CPR certificate (or obtained within first three months of hire)

Competitive Wages; entry level positions start at $26.25 per hour for day shift and $20.42 per hour for overnight shift
