OBJECTIVE:


Reporting to the General Manager the Sales & Catering Coordinator will work to achieve hotel revenue, profit, and guest satisfaction goals by negotiating group and/or individual traveler business, and maximizing event revenue by managing hotels meetings, conferences, and social functions.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:


  • Develop, maintain, and initiate relationships with key clientele, initiating new revenue sources.
  • Professional and close communication with the Chef and F&B supervisor.
  • Attention to detail to capture all the guest requirements and communicate the same to
  • Assist Front Desk as needed
F&B Team.

  • Prioritize time to ensure a balance is achieved between Room Sales & F&B Sales
  • Generate leads by proactively prospecting target accounts within a specific market segment and track.
  • Independently responsible for sales and catering goals, while understanding that everyone on the Sales and Catering team is accountable to each other.
  • Manages hotel meetings, conferences, and social functions from start to finish. Ensure function set
- up meets and/or exceeds customer expectations by working closely with each group's meeting planners to determine their needs for meeting rooms, food & beverage, and equipment requirements.

  • Work with Reservationist to block groups, create contracts and learn sales and catering
  • Participate in Sales blitz, reader boards and parking lot checks.
  • Prepare contracts for incoming catering clients and prepare proposals for potential clients.
  • Conduct postfunction reviews with clients.
  • Provide weekly sales activity reports to GM.
  • Work with Sales and Marketing Team to maximise Productivity.
  • Achieve revenue targets in rooms and catering on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Maintain a good understanding of the competitive set including but not limited to rates, product, and clientele.
  • Prepare proposals, rate negotiations, block space, processing of contracts and follow up utilizing the revenue strategies.
  • Load, review and renew rates in choice central.
  • Conduct site tours with guests, companies, and prospective clients.
  • Complete all Quality Brand training courses as required.
  • Attend monthly department and training meetings as scheduled.
  • Perform other duties as required.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Experience:
Previous hotel sales & catering experience considered an asset. Previous customer service and/or related experience considered an asset. Experience in event planning/ management.
