JOB TITLE:

COMMUNITY SERVICE WORKER (6 positions) | #1857


SERVICE AREA:

Vocational & Community Services


LOCATION:

Vancouver


START DATE:

May 06, 2024 (ending August 23, 2024)


SCHEDULE/HRS:

Monday to Friday 7:30 - 15:00 (Shift Times May Vary) // 37.5 hours per week


HOURLY WAGE:

$20.00


THE ROLE:


REQUIREMENTS:


Education & Experience:


  • Postsecondary education or training in related fields preferred (Community support worker, Kinesiology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Nursing Education)
  • Must be between ages of 1830 at intake time, legally entitled to work in Canada, not hold another full time (30 or more hours) summer job.
  • Working knowledge or experience with people in the area of life skills, recreation/leisure.

Standard requirements of the Summer Community Service Worker include:

  • Criminal Record Clearance
  • Medical Clearance
  • Demonstrated competency in English
  • Basic computer literacy (asset) expertise in the development of online class content & implementation
  • Must be Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold Refugee status
  • This position requires Union membership.
