Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Rail Construction Program aims to enhance Ottawa's Light Rail Transit Systems. As the primary contact for light rail vehicle projects, your responsibilities include technical review of designs, overseeing manufacturing and testing, and contributing to technical standards.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

- Completion of a 4-year university degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in light rail vehicle engineering on large-scale projects.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENCES

Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).

KNOWLEDGE

Light rail vehicle design, manufacturing, testing, and operation.
Urban transit vehicles and their subsystems.
Railway specific engineering.
Project management principles.
Computer applications in an engineering environment.

Desirable Qualifications:
- Previous experience in design-build environments.
- Previous experience in an operational environment.

Manage complex projects effectively.
Communicate technical information clearly.
Identify and recommend solutions for safety issues.
Effective conflict management and negotiation skills.
