    THE OPPORTUNITY

    Triton Environmental Consultants Ltd. ("Triton") is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Senior Environmental Technician to join a well-established team of environmental professionals based out of our Terrace office.

    The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the technical field components of environmental projects and providing technical support to project managers. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
    • Lead and supervise field teams in various disciplines.
    • Manage tasks and projects according to approved scopes of works and deliver quality reports on schedule.
    • Liaise with on-site client representatives, contractors, and regulators.
    • Provide quality and independent review for projects.
    • Provide an understanding of environmental Best Management Practices and advise clients accordingly.
    • Work collaboratively within Triton corporate culture.
    SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

    Ideal candidates will possess the following skills, traits, and qualifications:
    • Technical diploma or certificate in biology or related field
    • Possess a professional designation (i.e., R.B.Tech., A.Sc.T., A.B.T., R.T.Biol., etc) and be a member in good standing of the professional body
    • Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience
    • Advanced technical knowledge in a specialized area (e.g., fisheries, wildlife)
    • Experience with field techniques necessary for conducting surveys and assessments across other disciplines outside of a specialization (e.g., stream assessments, water quality, environmental overview assessments, construction monitoring and inspection, sediment and erosion control)
    • Ability and willingness to work in a variety of field settings that can range from active construction sites to remote wilderness
    • Demonstrated field experience working in a supervisory capacity, leading environmental crews
    • Extensive experience with technical writing, reporting, and communication
    • Multi-jurisdictional knowledge of environmental regulations, policies, permits, and legislation
    • Provide mentorship to junior staff
    • Valid driver's license from a Canadian province or Territory acceptable for driving alone and with passengers in a work setting
