Description
Responsibilities:
- Prototype Assembly: Assemble prototype products using a variety of tools, equipment, and manufacturing processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design specifications.
- Precision Work: Ensure high precision and quality in prototype fabrication, paying close attention to detail and verifying specifications and measurements
- Testing and Evaluation: Conduct functional tests and performance evaluations on prototypes to identify any issues or areas for improvement.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of prototype development processes, materials used, and designs.
- Problem Solving: Identify and troubleshoot issues during prototype fabrication, proposing creative solutions to overcome challenges.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations throughout the prototype fabrication process, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and skills:
- Ability to demonstrate a genuine passion for bringing new ideas to life through prototype development using a variety of materials and fabrication techniques.
- Willing to drive Forklift and operate Overhead Cranes.
- Valid Driver's License as some pickups and deliveries may be needed.
- Basic knowledge of how to use hand tools, power tools, and manufacturing equipment for assembly and testing.
- Welding experience (asset)
- Basic fabrication experience would be desirable, as you would need to cut, bend, and shape metal components using a range of fabrication equipment such as band saws, drill presses, and grinders.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics (desirable)
- Previous experience in prototype assembly and testing within a manufacturing environment, preferably in a relevant industry such as automotive, aerospace, consumer electronics, or medical devices.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with crossfunctional teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
