AutoCanada is looking for a Human Resources Business Partner responsible for providing people management support, advice, and consultative services in partnership with leaders and associates.

This position provides expertise to our East and Central Region teams, including all levels of leadership, management, and associates around topics such as talent acquisition and management, associate relations, engagement, coaching, workforce planning, and performance management.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with regional leaders by providing professional support, associate management, and answering their queries
  • Act as a resource to leaders and associates about associate performance, development, and training opportunities
  • Act as a change agent and culture champion when supporting and representing the organization
  • Work with the People & Culture team to support projects and completion of objectives. Identify gaps in processes and initiate solutions to bridge deficiencies
  • Assist in maintaining regional and leader files in electronic and physical formats, upholding strict confidentiality of company and associate records
  • Provide support in developing and implementing people & culture policies and procedures and communicating any changes to management as well as Associates
  • Develop and communicate metrics to identify possible growth opportunities for the department and organization
  • Focus on customer service mentality to provide guidance and training to home office leaders as it relates to HR practices
  • Lead and conduct investigations
  • Act as a representative for all protected leaves
  • Conduct regional and senior leadership exit interviews. Provide analysis and recommendations to senior leadership for change activities
  • Manage and facilitate regional office new hire orientation and onboarding
  • Manage fullcycle projects for implementation of policies and procedures and best practices in alignment with the culture, values, and business objectives
  • Act as the primary project lead for assigned projects
  • Understand the business needs and partner/collaborate with the People, Culture & Learning team to develop solutions
  • Collaborate with the project sponsor in assigning, monitoring, and reviewing work performed by the project team
  • Responsible for updating, communicating, and managing the project timelines
  • Perform research for the project, including peer reviews, web searching, literature, and external partnerships

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, organizational development, or equivalent work experience
  • 35 years of work experience in Human Resources

Bilingual English and French oral and written required:

  • Work experience or education in employment law or other area of regulation is an asset
  • Certified HR designation or working towards is preferred
  • Superior communications and interpersonal skills, able to work comfortably and provide counsel to all levels of leadership and associates
  • Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
  • Able to adapt to a consistently changing environment
  • Ability and experience to make well informed decisions on a broad human resource knowledge base
  • Strong ability in using MS Office (MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience and ability to work with HRIS & ATS software (e.g. ADP & Workday) are considered an asset
  • Ability to handle data with confidentiality and discretion
  • Availability to travel up to 50% of the time
