The Farming Systems Lab is looking for full time summer students for the 2024 Field Season (May-August).

The positions are based out of Winnipeg, but involve daily travel to other field sites in Manitoba (transportation will be provided).

Successful applicants will gain experience with a wide range of crops (soybean, corn, wheat, canola, cover crops) and training in agronomy research methods.

Duties:

• Assisting with field trial setup (land preparation, staking, packaging seed)
• Data collection (biomass sampling, field notes, soil sampling, data entry)
• Sample processing (weighing, drying, grinding)

Eligibility:

• Fulltime degree or diploma student
• Valid driver's license
• Experience with farm equipment is an asset, but not a requirement
• Enjoy working outside

Please note that this is not a remote position. The Research Assistant will be expected to work on-site at our location.
