OVERVIEW:


From corrugated packaging, paper bags, retail displays, pre-print, supply and inventory management, paper mills and recycling, Atlantic is strategically positioned to provide customers with a total packaging solution.


THE OPPORTUNITY:


The Manager - Data Analytics is an integral team member of Atlantic's Technical Services Group responsible for leveraging an abundance of data and identifying what data is relevant and what is not, to creating business intelligence and insights to predict trends, reduce inefficiencies and costs and increase the company's overall profit.


In a managerial role, the successful applicant will assist in building a team of skilled professionals who will collectively ensure the successful implementation of standard data reports for all areas of a multi-plant business environment.

This role will be a key facilitator in translating business needs to requirements, explaining technical concepts to non-technical users and acting as a bridge between the functional areas and the technical team.

Scarborough, Ontario (currently hybrid)


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Leading and developing a team of data analysts, data engineers and developers and execute projects to produce the deliverables. Coordinate the tasks of the team and ensure the team is productive and efficiently completes the tasks.
  • Communicate with managers of other departments and ensure that their strategies and goals align with the company goals.
  • Manage project forecasts and schedules for upcoming developments.
  • Implement technological improvements to a company's database.
  • Negotiating between different business groups to work towards data standardization.
  • Translating findings to the stakeholders in simple and clear language and presenting the business intelligence derived from the data.
  • Developing strategies for effective data analysis and reporting.
  • Managing and designing the reporting environment, including data sources and metadata.
  • Oversee all analytics operations to correct discrepancies and ensure quality.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:


  • University Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management or related major.
  • 10+ years' experience defining and delivering technology solutions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of data platform architecture, data modeling, database optimization, data management practices and processes.
  • Experience in data governance and data lake architecture.
  • Experience with big data architectures and data modeling to efficiently process large volumes of data.
  • Experience in ELT and ETL data processing.
  • Well versed in programming languages like SAS, R, Python, MATLAB, Java, etc.
  • Proficient in database systems of SQL and NoSQL.
  • Ability to work with data analytics and visualization tools such as PowerBI, Domo and Tableau
  • Well versed in machine learning.
  • Experience with pipeline automation with CI/CD, Data Quality Management and Operations
  • Knows data mining and data cleansing techniques, data modelling and data architecture.
  • Wellversed with hands on experience with cloud platforms and ecosystems such as IBM, Microsoft Azure, AWS, etc.
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Critical thinking and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent time management skills to meet deadlines and manage project delivery with ease.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in French would be an asset.
