Under the direction of the Director of Forestry:

  • Plan and execute the Forestry capital, maintenance and restoration services for Transmission and Distribution Right-of-Ways (ROW.)

rvices**- Develop and manage a skilled internal and external workforce to meet the resourcing requirements of the assigned work programs.

  • Manage, coordinate and execute work programs while meeting requirements and ensuring efficiencies in the workforce.
  • Manage and effect changes in labour relations to drive a more efficient work environment; manage relationship with unions to ensure business goals and contracts are economically met and to achieve a competitive position in the internal and external comparative organizations.
  • Negotiate the requirements of contractual agreements.
  • Manage and ensure that appropriate training programs for all staff are identified, implemented and accessible, including assessing the workforce capability required to do the work; linking with Work Methods and Training to acquire the training needed.

ed Direct Output**- Provide coaching and development opportunities to all subordinate staff to elevate staff to a higher level of performance.

  • Define and manage Hydro One's strategies by ensuring all work is done to the standard in terms of cost, schedule and quality.
  • Drive costs down to competitive levels through the implementation of world class best practices.
  • Liaise with Customers and service providers at all levels, including but not limited to: Local Associations, Utilities and Line Clearing companies, Municipal, as well as Provincial Levels, i.e. mayors, Parks Canada, MPP's, MOEE, MNR, First Nations road authorities, and other agents of the municipality.
  • Continuously monitor and assess work processes for quality assurance and compliance to relevant policies and legislation.
  • Provide and maintain systems, equipment, material, information and infrastructure necessary to sustain, improve and carry out the business.
  • Respond to and support trouble calls and direct emergency response within the defined Zone while maintaining customer relationships.
  • Oversee and schedule the Forestry Services work crews within Central Zone and optimize crew mobilization.
