Primary Responsibilities:


This is a newly created position that will lead the implementation of recommendations from a recently completed Resident Wellness Study.

NHA is making investments to enhance overall staff and resident wellness across our housing portfolio.

The purpose of these investments is to amplify the positive social impact of mixed income housing models, improve resident stability, and increase pride of place.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Wellness and Program Coordinator is responsible for the following:


Resident & Staff Wellness

  • Work with the operations team to develop, implement, and maintain the 'Resident and Staff Wellness Toolkit'
  • Collaborate with the operations team to implement the recommendations of the Resident Wellness Study and report
  • Assist the operations team by being one of the main points of contact for residents and triaging requests and issues as they arise
  • Support and assist residents to connect to relevant resources or services as needed such as conflict resolution and mediation
  • Develop and implement strategies that are focused on increasing overall community compassion and empathy by encouraging and supporting positive resident relationship development, communication, connection, and enhancing resident selfempowerment and autonomy
  • Assist in generating annual surveys and feedback loops, including developing Key Performance Indicators, to update, maintain, and evaluate relevance and impact of wellness strategies and programs
  • Work with the Director of Operations and other team members to plan and execute the quarterly Community Advisory Group meetings
  • Other duties as assigned.

Partnership Development & Collaboration

  • Work with the CEO and Director of Operations to align existing partnerships and collaboratives with resident wellness strategy and programming
  • Explore and formalize relationships and collaborations with relevant agencies that support NHA's priorities and resident needs
  • Assist in identifying collaborations and partnerships that can support and advance the creation of clear reconciliation policies and commitments at NHA
  • Explore the use of a Tenant Action Committee to advance NHA's advocacy and engagement goals
  • Other duties as assigned.

Program Facilitation & Management

  • Use the existing Calgary Dollars Partnership Program to generate, maintain and promote resident services list, create meaningful connections between residents, and achieve organizational wellness goals
  • Take active leadership is facilitating community programming, including managing the expansion and formalization of programming and events
  • Coordinate the Calgary Dollars Partnership Program including leading and supporting the design of residentled community programming
  • Collaborate with communications staff to ensure residents are informed, connected, and have better access to community events, resources, and programs
  • Conduct light research and stay abreast of best practices and emerging trends in the social housing and wellness space
  • Utilize best practices to inform the resident and staff wellness strategies, programs, and toolkits
  • Work with operational staff to identify projects or tasks on the "cold case file" and assist in completion of tasks and projects
  • Other administrative duties as required.

Event Planning

  • Create and maintain an annual calendar of events and programming
