Job Description - Desktop Support Specialist

Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

General Accountability:


Roles & Responsibilities:


Desktop Support:


  • Provide expertlevel desktop support to endusers, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues promptly and effectively.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent and reliable enduser experiences across all desktop systems.

Microsoft Suite Expertise:


  • Utilize deep knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) to assist endusers in optimizing their productivity and efficiency.

Active Directory and Azure Integration:


  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and group memberships within Active Directory.
  • Leverage Azure services to enhance user authentication, access control, and data security.
  • Collaborate with system administrators to integrate onpremises systems with Azure services.

Technical Support:


  • Respond to userreported issues via various communication channels, providing clear and concise solutions and guidance.
  • Escalate complex technical problems to higherlevel IT staff or vendors as necessary.
  • Document support tickets, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions accurately for future reference.

System Maintenance and Upgrades:


  • Perform regular system maintenance tasks, including software updates, patches, and security configurations.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively address potential issues to minimize downtime.
  • Assist in planning and executing desktop hardware and software upgrades as required.

User Training and Knowledge Sharing:


  • Share technical knowledge and expertise with team members, promoting a collaborative learning environment.

Qualifications & Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Profound knowledge of Active Directory user and group management.
  • Familiarity with Azure services and integration concepts.
  • Prior experience in desktop support and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong problemsolving and criticalthinking abilities.

Preferred qualifications:


  • Microsoft certifications (e

g, Microsoft 365 Certified:
Modern Desktop Administrator Associate,

Microsoft Certified:
Azure Fundamentals).

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Familiarity with specialized manufacturing software.

Salary & Benefits:


  • Salary range between $60K to $70K per year
