Child and Youth Mental Health Eating Disorder Specialist Clinicians provide direct clinical services such as screening referrals, triage, intake, assessment, diagnosis, treatment, safety planning, and crisis intervention for children and youth suffering from eating disorders (primarily Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder).
Through consultation, the Eating Disorder Specialist Clinician will build and maintain relationships to support coordinated services and positive outcomes for children, youth, and families.

Job Requirements:
- Masters in Social Work, Educational Counselling, Clinical Psychology or Child and Youth Care or comparable graduate degree at the Master's level, or equivalent.
NOTE:If your degree was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
- Minimum of one year fulltime equivalent experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience recommended in eating disorder services or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, with preference for two (2) years of experience in eating disorder services within the last 5 years.
- Must possess and maintain a valid class 5 BC Driver's license with no restriction or equivalent (i.e. from another Canadian Province).
- Two (2) years or more experience working with children and youth and their families, with responsibility for providing a wide range of community based mental health services.
- At least one (1) year experience with family counselling.
- Documented and demonstrated clinical training and experience in delivery of evidencebased interventions for individuals with eating disorders.
- Experience providing Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) or Radically Open Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, group and/or individual therapy to youth and the families who struggle with emotion dysregulation, highrisk behaviours and/or safety concerns.
- Experience working with parents/caregivers and young children (age 812).
- Experience and training in Emotion Focused Family Therapy, Family Based Treatment, or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Eating Disorders.
- Experience working with neurodiversity, sensory processing disorders, or Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder.
- Applicants who selfidentify as having an Indigenous heritage (First Nations, Métis, or Inuit) with the required combination of education and experience.
About this Position:
There are two (2) full-time temporary opportunities available: 6-month assignment until November 29, 2024 and an 18 month assignment until September 26, 2024.
Both temporary opportunities are based on Port Moody.
An eligibility list may be established to fill future temporary and permanent vacancies in Burnaby, New Westminster, Maple Ridge, Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, and the North Fraser Float.
