What you'll be doing.


The Product Management & Support Consultant contributes to the overall success of _Scotia Global Asset Management's Product Development and Innovation team, by _ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the broader business strategies and objectives.

Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing Canadian regulations, internal policies and procedures by:


  • Supports and guides key recommendations throughout the ScotiaFunds product lifecycle by conducting research and analysis (e.g., product gap analysis, MER analysis, monitoring sales flow, asset growth, industry trends and developments)
  • Acts as a key member of the product initiative implementation workforce, working with partners across the business to deliver tailored product and service solutions through multiple channels, such as Scotiabank branch advisors and mobile advice team, Scotia Wealth Management (ScotiaMcLeod and Private Investment Counsel).
  • Assist in creation of advisor/investor support materials and tools, collaborating with Product Marketing and Communication teams.
  • Responsible for managing the external data provider relationships, such as Morningstar, by providing information on new products and/or any changes to existing products.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in daytoday activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of daytoday business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

What you need to succeed.

  • Undergraduate degree
  • 3+ years of mutual fund industry experience
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel/spreadsheet skills
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Completion of Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and/or level one of the CFA Program
  • Experience with Morningstar Direct is an asset
