    Summary:


    We are currently seeking a Field Coordinator. The incumbent will support and maintain all field activities required for the overall delivery of the project. They will assist the Site Superintendent in planning and scheduling materials and people as well as providing administrative support in the areas of operations, cost, quality, and safety.

    As a Field Coordinator, you will:

    • Coordinate materials and people for the site superintendent to support service levels, priorities, and changing needs of the project
    • Assist in implementing and monitoring the quality control, safety, and environmental programs
    • Perform quality control activities on field and ensure adherence to contract requirements
    • Act as a resource to the Site by providing inspection, supervision, and technical support
    • Liaise with subcontractors and consultants on field, negotiate quantities, and make payment certificates
    • Understand the scope of the contract by reading specifications and interpreting drawings.
    • Recognize when work is additional to the contract
    • Conduct quality audits by identifying, documenting, and providing solutions for Non-Conformances (NCRs), Corrective Action Requirements (CARs) and Preventative Actions (PARs)
    • Assist in making and adhering to work schedules
    • Review of timesheets for accuracy
    • Perform cost control and reconciliation activities, build, and maintain general ledger
    • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports like job forecasts, labour reports and cost reports
    • Set-up and maintain filing systems and document control logs (i.e. RFC's, shop drawings)
    • Investigate and respond to miscellaneous job inquiries

    You will bring:

    • Engineering degree or technical diploma in Construction Management, Construction Engineering or Civil Engineering is required
    • 1+ years relevant experience within the Heavy Civil Construction industry is required. Co-op experience will also be considered
    • Excellent Microsoft Outlook, MS Word, and Excel skills. Experience with a scheduling software is a definite asset
    • Ability to interpret project drawings, contract terms, conditions, and specifications
    • Basic knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control etc. is needed
    • Sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals and objectives
    • Attention to details and superior organization skills to work well with shifting priorities and rapid change
    • Strong ability to work with a highly functional team
    • Good communication skills both spoken and written to present data and reports to stakeholders at various levels
    • Valid Class G driver's license and clean driving record
    • Ability to use stairs, ladders, scaffolding and climb over rough terrain
