Niagara College, Toronto Programs is a public college-private partnership between Niagara College Canada (NC) and TSoM, with academic delivery and student support services managed by TSoM.
The role holder will have exceptional organizational and communication skills to lead class lessons and discussions while encouraging students to develop skills and knowledge critically and rationally.
Responsibilities
- Organize learning materials, discussions, and presentations by bringing excitement, enthusiasm, and commitment to the Computer Programming Program.
- Plan, prepare and deliver various Computer Programming related topics for appointmentbased oneonone/group sessions.
- Help reinforce understanding of concepts taught in class.
- Clarify problems similar to those on graded assignments.
- Review submitted assignments to help students identify areas for improvement.
- Challenge ideas and encourage students to develop skills and knowledge critically and rationally.
- Maintain attendance records for planning and forecasting relating to classroom management.
- Evaluate and regularly review students' progress and provide feedback.
- Create a supportive and positive learning environment.

- Database Essentials
- Web Authoring Fundamentals
- The Art of Script Programming
- Software Development
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized University in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years' experience teaching or tutoring in the required courses.
- Experience teaching or tutoring in a multicultural classroom
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong programming skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to motivate students to achieve their learning objectives
- Ability to accommodate differences in students' learning styles
- An adaptable and understanding personality with a professional attitude and a dedication to excellence in teaching
- Fri (8 am12 pm or 12 pm4 pm)
