About the Opportunity:


Under the direction of the Director of Procurement and working closely with the NHS Supply Chain team, the Manager of Contract Management, provides strategic leadership and expertise in the development of Nova Scotia Health team devoted to developing a contract management framework.


The manager of contract management is responsible for developing and managing a repository database for all Nova Scotia Health under threshold contacts.

They are responsible for reporting on contract status and the tracking contract compliance and benefits.


The manager of contract management coordinates with NSH departments to ensure timely renewals of contracts, negotiating favourable terms and minimizing off contract spend.

The manager supports the education of NSH programs on the contract procurement process and support development and negotiations of under threshold complex contracts.


  • Responsible to establish a contract management framework, including process, tools and information management strategy
  • Support the education of customers on the procurement process for contracts
  • Support business owners in the management of priorities and resources for over threshold contracts
  • Responsible for the development and management for a under threshold contract database repository
  • Responsible to facilitate the contract review process for under threshold contracts
  • Responsible for reporting on contract status and coordinating of timely contract renewals
  • Responsible to establish a process and actions for reducing occurrence of going off contract, by ensuring that contracts are extended on time, negotiating favourable terms through extensions, and reducing noncompliance/optimizing contracts by moving off contract spend on to contract
  • Responsible to establish a framework, including the process, tools and information management strategy, to support the auditing of contract compliance ensuring that service completed on time at the right price. To ensure that NSH receives the full value and any benefits/rebates tied to a contract
  • Support the customer with negotiation of complex contracts, as necessary

About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, science, information technology or engineering is required
  • Recognized professional supply chain designation is an asset
  • LEAN certification is an asset
  • Project management certification is an asset
  • Leadership skills: visionary, change leader, mentor, and empowering team builder
  • Sound strategic thinking, with a keen eye for refining administrative processes
  • Strong management and problem identification and resolution skills
  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and strict deadlines
  • Experience in working with clinical leaders
  • Strong knowledge of health care issues
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Compensation and Incentives:

$ $50.34 Hourly
