Summary
This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the dealership.

Using correct policies and procedures as well as proper dealer operating standards, the position is responsible for leading and motivating staff, ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining the overall efficiency of the dealership.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the Vice President to make final decisions on dealership goals and objectives.
  • Forecasts and reviews goals and objectives for sales, gross and key expenses on a monthly and annual basis.
  • Participates, reviews and provides recommendations for the annual operating forecast and budget for the dealership.
  • Ensures dealership maintains profitability margins.
  • Assists department managers in setting goals and objectives and coaches' managers to achieve goals.
  • Responsible to hire, train, motivate, coach and monitor the performance of the department managers.
  • Meets with department managers to discuss ideas, concerns and objectives.
  • Ensures effective communication with the dealership and interdepartmentally.
  • Maintains a good relationship with the OEM manufacturer representatives.
  • Creates a customer focused environment and continuously strives to improve the customer satisfaction ratings.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of and complies with federal and provincial regulations that affect the dealership (including OMVIC regulations).
  • Develops, implements and monitors systems and standards for the dealership.
  • Committed to ethical and moral business standards and practices.
  • Ensures managers understand and comply with corporate and dealership policies and procedures.
  • Attends and participates in Pfaff Automotive Partners management meetings as required.
  • Coordinates dealership advertising initiatives.
  • Analyzes competitors ' pricing and standards and attends line group and dealership meetings.
  • Maintains uptodate knowledge of factory and industry news and standards.
  • Reviews all internal work orders and approves all payables.
  • Ensures maintenance of the building and property.
  • Maintains dealership inventory and receivables.
  • Maintains complete knowledge of and complies with company and departmental policies, procedures and standards.
  • Ensures all employees vacation time is managed as per company policy and procedures.
  • Manages the integrity of the dealership security systems and ensures all security devices are in proper working order (motion detectors, video surveillance, lot lighting, key box, floor safe, cash drawers).
  • Setsup and organizes individual work area with designated supplies, forms and resource materials while maintaining cleanliness.
  • Maintains customer and company confidence by keeping information confidential and secure.
  • Responsible for the day to day operational decisions.
  • Responsible for determining the priority of tasks within the scope of the position.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Completion of high school diploma or vocational equivalent.
  • University degree or college diploma in business administration.
  • Minimum 10 to 15 years experience in the automotive industry, including a minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • OMVIC Certification.
  • Valid Ontario Driver's License and a c lean driver's a bstract.
  • Proficient with the following computer environments: Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer and Outlook.
  • ADP / Reynolds & Reynolds experience preferred.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (verbal & written English) skills.
  • Ability to build a customer focused team environment.
  • Ability to build longlasting and trusting customer relationships.
  • Excellent problemsolving skills in order to resolve customer issues.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines.
