    Are you our dynamic Staff Data Scientist focusing on Search Engine Optimization ? SEO is an art form to which we are bringing more scientific, measurement, and statistical rigor.

    As one of the largest sites on the internet (100M+ indexed pages, 1B+ pageviews/year, 100M+ users/year) we have enough data to make meaningful innovations, and a world-class SEO team to partner with.

    Work with SEO Strategists and peer Data Scientists to understand SEO best practices, propose strategic ideas, and develop measurement techniques to understand impact.

    Discover and validate key performance metrics, for ourselves and competitors.
    Develop models and datasets for synthetic control.

    Model the value of different SEO improvement strategies – from changes to the site structure, internal linking, tagging, sitemaps, external links, etc.

    Model Top Level Domain health, again for the primary coursehero.
    Model the precursors of traffic, namely crawling, indexation, rankings and landing health.

    From that work, take charge of crafting and refining crucial metrics for the SEO domain, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver clear, actionable insights.

    Your ability to transform complex data into understandable metrics will guide our SEO strategies and decision-making processes.
    Build reusable analysis tools for sample sizing and post-test analysis.
    Effectively communicate findings to internal and external team members to guide decision making and drive implementation.
    Formulate hypotheses to improve model accuracy and conduct rigorous testing to validate hypotheses.
    Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEO strategies, making adjustments as needed to maximize impact.
    Are you our Staff Data Scientist?
    ~5+ years data science experience of continually increasing complexity and impact
    ~ PhD degree in an applicable quantitative field like Statistics, Economics, Econometrics, Operations Research, Social Science, or similar, or MS and additional work experience.
    ~ Excellent proficiency in Python (or R), SQL skill, and an obsession with data breadth, depth, and quality. Propose and research new / additional data sources.
    ~ Deep understanding of statistics and probability, quantitative sciences, data analysis, predictive and ML modeling.
    ~ a bias towards taking action quickly, making things happen, learning, and correcting course as you receive feedback.
    ~ Experience shipping large scale inference models based on disparate data sources and non-obvious measurement techniques. Knowledge of SEO, Brand Marketing Measurement or similar hard-to-measure domains.
