Description

The Sr. API Developer is to develop Web Services and APIs using Microsoft Azure Cloud technology including API Management (APIM) and Azure Functions that are implemented as per best practices and strategic design patterns.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Development, the successful candidate's mandate will be to partner with the IT and
business teams, working on the design and development of web APIs. With exposure to cloud technologies including
MS Azure Cloud, REST/SOAP services, .Net Core, C#, and DevOps, the candidate will have the opportunity to work on
several high-profile initiatives within the organization, leveraging technology to realize the business needs and enable
the customers.

Responsibilities

Design, code, and deliver Azure web services and APIs.

• Design, develop, and integrate Azure platforms in a manner that allows for secure and reliable services.

• Engage with stakeholders/end users in the full software development lifecycle – PM, BA, QA, etc.

• Analyse requirements and provide Technical Solutions for delivery to production.

• Document the delivered solutions (e.g. designs, configurations, and setup), in Wiki and Swaggerhub

• Work within required project management methodology, including Agile, Waterfall, and/or Hybrid

• Possess strong problem-solving expertise with the ability to analyze complex integration solutions and data flows in production.

• Attend to production incidents/issues on a rolling basis and provide robust solutions to address the issue with the highest priority
Development – 80%

• 5+ years of hands-on experience on Microsoft .Net platform and web development experience.

• 3+ years of development experience building cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure on an event-driven architecture.

• Experience in developing RESTful API with demonstrable API design experience.

• Proficient in developing real-time solutions using serverless Functions, Data Factory, Logic Apps, and other
components in Microsoft Azure development toolbox.

• Extensive experience with the following tools and technologies:

• Microsoft Azure DevOps including code repositories, branching strategies, delivery, and testing using
• CI/CD pipelines.
• Microsoft Visual Studio Team System with a focus on C#
• Microsoft Azure Identity Management and Security technologies
• Microsoft Azure Operating and Monitoring tools
• Exposure to the DataDog monitoring tool is an asset.

Risk and Compliance – 20%

• Ensure changes to production adhere to the company's Policy, Standards, and Guidelines

• Ensure changes to the system and business solutions are appropriately risk-rated

• Maintain relevant documentation in compliance with regulatory guidelines

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of development, design, and technical implementations.
• API Development using C# Microsoft Azure Integration (APIM, serverless functions, and ADF)
• Microsoft Azure Foundations DevOps and CI/CD Pipelines
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
• Agile / Scrum Microsoft Azure Certification
• Financial institution experience Microservices experience is an asset
• Post-secondary degree in a related area or discipline
