    Sr Advisor - Business Continuity

    WestJet arrived on the Canadian airline scene in 1996 and changed the industry for the better. This is a remote position when located outside of Calgary, with the ability to travel.

    If located in Calgary, Alberta this will be a Hybrid where you will be required to work at our WestJet Campus in Calgary 3 days /week.

    This role is part of the Operational Risk Management Program, a team of BCM-risk management professionals who work with senior management in all lines of business to coordinate business continuity governance activities.

    The Senior Advisor will work collaboratively with various business units and stakeholders to provide analysis and project management in efforts to ensure the continuity of essential business functions at WestJet, minimize adverse financial and reputational impacts and create resiliency strategies to reduce the likelihood and impact of operational threats.

    Contribute to the development and maintenance of the enterprise-wide business continuity management program including development of tools and instructional guides for both business Continuity planning, event management and risk monitoring (as assigned)

    Contribute to establishing and maintaining program processes and practices which effectively ensure that the enterprise program remains current and incorporates/aligns with industry standards and practices as appropriate, and adequately covers general regulatory requirements.

    Support and/or lead processes that drive BCM governance requirements as part of the enterprise operational risk framework (as assigned).

    Assist in developing and conducting customized exercises to evaluate preparedness levels and recovery capabilities of response plans including analysis and compiling documentation from all related test events
    Contribute to updating governance processes, policies, operating standards, templates and other documents related to corporate Business Continuity
    Facilitate consultative support to all WestJet business units in strengthening their resiliency and Business Continuity capabilities
    Review existing people, facility, and vendor recovery processes to ensure resilience levels are aligned with business needs, best practices and enterprise risk / audit expectations
    Responsible for maintaining up-to-date Business Continuity related system documentation in a continuously changing and evolving environment

    Collaborate and support initiatives with Enterprise Risk, Audit and Advisory Services, IT Disaster Recovery, Emergency Response and Business Recovery.

    Contribute to developing a corporate culture of Business Continuity awareness and preparedness
    Requirement to be part of an on-call rotation as needed

    5+ years of business/technical experience in business continuity planning, business process definition, business and data analysis, and project management.

    Experience and ease in working with MS Suite specifically Teams, Excel, SharePoint Lists, Power BI dashboards

    Achievement of, or willingness to achieve associate level or higher in business continuity, risk management and or project management.

    Excellent relationship management skills, ability to manage a diverse range of project deliverables
    Strong understanding of ISO 22301, 31000 and other industry standards and best practices for Business Continuity Management, Risk Management, Emergency Response or Crisis Management
    Comfortable and confident with online and in-person interactions
