    Heavy Equipment Operator Job Description

    Our organization seeks a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to contribute to a significant soil salvage and reclamation project in Alberta. The successful candidate will work in challenging winter conditions, ensuring safe and efficient operations while maintaining production targets.

    The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and be able to effectively collaborate with team members across various disciplines.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Load trucks safely and efficiently; set up dumps for optimal cycle times, windrow, striping, and separating of organized materials for the loading units
    • Perform pre-trip inspections and complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments for all activities
    • Maintain equipment in excellent working condition, report, and log maintenance needs promptly
    • Communicate effectively with team members across different disciplines

    Requirements:

    • Previous experience operating front-end loaders, dozers, excavators, haul trucks, and graders
    • Prior reclamation production experience is considered an asset
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Successful completion of pre-access drug and alcohol testing
    • CSTS 09, Common Safety Orientation (CSO), or OSSA Basic Safety Orientation (BSO)

    Work Conditions:

    • Project-based position working fourteen days on and seven days off, working 12 hours per day
    • Travel allowance and camp accommodations would be provided to those who qualify
    • Work will be primarily outdoors and in various weather conditions
