    Position Information Position Title Part-Time Academic: SLWK 6001 Theories and Practices of Anti-Oppressive Social Work in Diverse and Intersecting Communities - Fall Posting Number PTAP2430P Department/Unit Social Work Location Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada Job Summary & Key Responsibilities WORK ASSIGNMENT: The part-time academic will be responsible for teaching: SLWK 6001, "Theories and Practices of Anti-Oppressive Social Work in Diverse and Intersecting Communities". The course will be offered in the Fall term, from September-December 2024.To confirm class times and locations, please refer to the Dalhousie University Academic Timetable. Note: this course is part of the MSW program.

    The part-time academic will be responsible for all aspects of teaching and administering the course, including preparing and delivering lectures and preparation and grading of assignments. In addition, the part-time academic should expect to be engaged in course preparations for one-two months preceding course delivery. Qualifications/Requirements of Position REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION: A critical approach to understanding various forms of oppression (e.g. racism, colonialism, sexism, homophobia, ableism) as it applies to social work practice. A Master of Social Work degree, or higher, and previous teaching experience is preferred.
