SUMMARY OF ROLE


The Program Coordinator will be a key contributor to the success of the Children's Foundation of Guelph and Wellington's community-based programs.

This role involves working closely with the Program Director to ensure the effective implementation of the Adopt-A-Family (AAF) program.

As well, this role will provide support for the Free to Grow (FTG) program, including the mental health and tutoring pilot initiatives.

This position reports to the Director of Community Programs.

KEY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Program Coordination

  • Lead the AAF volunteer team in the delivery of the program, including the setup and teardown of the seasonal site.
  • Troubleshoot issues or concerns to maintain or improve program delivery of the AAF program.
  • Conduct research and complete program evaluation, as required.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and achieve strategic and operational goals.
    Gather program success stories to be used in communications, prioritizing the respect and dignity of folks accessing services.

  • Demonstrate leadership to grow and learn, gradually acquiring more responsibility for daytoday program management.

Administration and Other

  • Update and maintain the integrity and organization of all forms, data, and documents.
  • Support the administration of program operations, such as updating or developing policies and procedures, as assigned by the Director.
  • Develop enewsletters for program participants, coordinate lowcost/nocost external communitybased events and opportunities for families to attend, and organize and maintain community resources.
  • Facilitate operational tasks such as basic financial tracking, site management, ordering program supplies, and other tasks as assigned.
  • Maintain accurate program records and statistics, ensuring tracking is current and relevant to program success.

QUALIFICATIONS & KEY COMPETENCIES

Education

:

University degree or College diploma from a relevant field, such as Social Work, Community Development, or programs centering around children, youth, and/or families.

A combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.

Program Delivery

:


experience working with a diverse team of staff and volunteers to deliver programs, complete program evaluation, collect feedback, build relationships, meet program objectives, and adapt as needed.

Social Service Experience

:

experience working at or accessing social service(s) or community-centered organizations is considered an asset. Championing equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) principles: Demonstrated commitment to aligning program delivery strategies with our commitment to EDI.

:

excellent organizational and time management, with good attention to detail for accurate data management.
