    Construction Project Manager


    Job Purpose and Summary

    Our Construction Project Manager within our Refractory Installation Services will manage construction projects and be responsible for all aspects of the project. This role will also have a important role to play in motivating and developing a team of trades people to ensure that they complete all tasks and process in a timely manner, as well providing high quality services.

    The Project Manager will travel to different customer sites throughout Ontario. Travel will consist of 25-50% of the time. Option to work remotely but be in the Brantford, ON office twice a week.

    Essential Job Requirements

    • Leadership: Create and motivate a diverse team of skill trade employees
    • Collaboration: Work with management and clients to define and assess needs and recommend the appropriate service, including making site visits as required
    • Project Planning: Develop a project plan with timing, employee hours and skills needed, production rates and equipment resources
    • Communication: Effectively be able to communicate to the leadership, subcontractors, clients and employees
    • Administrative: Create and Provide Accurate Documentation (Incl. Deficiency Reports, Site Condition Reports, Meeting Minutes, Organization Charts, Invoices, Receipts, Purchase Orders, Work Orders, Quotes, Site Binders, project Start Up Binders, Project Close Out Binders, Contracts, Warranty Letters, Etc.)

    Education and/or Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent degree
    • 3-5 years of experience in refractory installation or Industrial Construction Projects
    • PMP designation is a plus

    Knowledge, Skills, and General Abilities

    • Experience working in the field
    • Practical understanding of the analysis of engineering drawings and tenders/RFP's
    • Ability to proficiently use e-mail, Microsoft Office 365 specifically Microsoft Project & Excel
    • Ability to enforce health and safety and quality control policies and implement procedures with a zero-tolerance attitude to ensure a safe and quality driven workplace

    Physical Requirements

    • Must be able to stand and/or be on their feet 10-12 hours per day
    • Must be able to go up and down on ladders, steps, or other lifts as needed
    • Must be able to perform various tasks in confined spaces and elevations.
