The Opportunity:

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Facilities Maintenance Worker to join our Operations and Utilities team.

Reporting to the Recreation Operations Manager, the Facilities Maintenance Worker is responsible for:


  • Daily Facility Maintenance
  • Providing effective and efficient building repair and maintenance
  • Assisting in building renovations as required, including rough and finishing carpentry, electrical, plumbing and painting
  • Basic repairing including framing, finishing and cabinetry carpentry work
  • Using blueprints, sketches, and manufacturer's specifications and manuals to provide efficient and effective maintenance schedules
  • Updating and maintaining information on CityWide asset management software
  • Providing general janitorial/custodial services as required
  • Providing coaching and mentoring to other employees

What You Bring

  • Equivalent to high school diploma
  • Class 5 Alberta Driver's License
  • 5 years related work experience representing continuous leaning and career progression
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems
