Vice President Leasing


Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Shopping Centre Leasing, this position is responsible for leasing of retail space to local, regional, and national tenants, in a manner to maximize the return on investment and ensuring consistency with project and/or property budgets.

This position can be in the Toronto, Calgary, or Vancouver area.

Oversee team of leasing professionals - training, developing, and coaching immediate subordinates.
To maintain sound and continuing relationships with all national & regional tenants and potential tenants.
To develop strategic plans, and short-, medium
- and long-term objectives for the Department.
Provide liaison and communication with Development, Operations and Legal Departments
Negotiate with local, regional, and national tenants on a property specific basis, as needed.
To lease space in existing projects and/or properties in accordance with merchandising mix and on property budget requirements.
Develop revenue budgets for all centres in the region with an active role in redevelopments and expansions.

Key Requirements

Post-secondary business education preferred with a minimum of 10 years shopping centre/leasing related job experience and experience in leading, motivating and coaching a group of employees.

A valid Real Estate License is required
Must possess excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills; and have solid financial acumen and be goal oriented.
Proven ability to connect quickly with people in a poised, convincing, and enthusiastic way.

Experience working at an extremely fast pace and will require working cooperatively with and through people to complete tasks and will be integral in motivating others.

The job requires team and collaborative work with the organization.

Experience with a strong sense of urgency, initiative, and drive to get things done correctly, with emphasis on working with and through people in the process.

A valid Real Estate License is required
