Job summary
As a member of the interdisciplinary team, and under the general direction of the Manager of Mental Health and Addictions, restore maintain and enhance recovery for people seeking help for addiction related issues by implementing various modalities of addiction recovery programs.Responsibilities
- informational programming as well as individual group counselling sessions with clients- assess individual group needs of clients implement plans to help clients reach their goals- preferential consideration will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms conditions SAHO/HSAS Collective AgreementQualifications
- mental health & addictions counselling diploma- valid class 5 driver's license
- demonstrated skills w/ Addiction concurrent disorders assessment/counseling problem solving skills.
- knowledge transtheoretical model change ability screen for addictions or addiction related symptoms knowledge holistic addictions treatment model knowledge screening addition assessment tools procedures knowledge co-current disorders gambling issues group dynamics work multi-disciplinary team.
