• Oversee all aspects of the kitchen and food preparation process
• Create menus to respond to the needs and desires of our clients
• Act as lead chef in the kitchen both actively preparing dishes and guiding others
• Cost and plan the purchase of ingredients needed for contracts
• Source and shop for ingredients
• Schedule labour for event preparation
• Create standardized recipes
• Provide training to new kitchen staff
• Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment to ensure proper functioning
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations

• Experience with on site and off site catering
• Experience in Kosher cooking an asset (not a must)
• Experience with Mediterranean cuisine an asset (not a must)
• Experience in managing the preparation of food on a large scale (200+ people)
• A minimum of 3 years managing and coaching culinary teams
• A minimum of 5 years working in a commercial kitchen

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• A proven knowledge of costing and forecasting in both food costs and labor costs
• Ability to create unique menus
• Ability to work evenings and weekends
• Knowledge of allergens and ability to work around them
• Up to date Food Handlers Certification
• Physical ability to lift up to 40lb
