Reporting to the Regional Security Manager, this position is responsible for the planning and directing of the designated site security operations along with the overall leadership and mentoring of the site security departments and works collaboratively with Site Operations Leads to support the execution of those priorities.

This position provides leadership, direction and mentoring to the site security department(s); motivating and leading by example to ensure an engaged workforce; utilizes key performance indicators to focus, guide and inspire the teams to deliver.

This position ensures adherence to all policies and procedures; identifies and implements improvements to increase security operational effectiveness and compliance, and efficiencies to maximize revenues, minimize expenses, enhance the guest experience, and provides a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:


  • Helps create an engaged work environment by choosing positivity and fun, recognizing excellent peer performance and by caring about and supporting our colleagues every day
  • Exceeds guest expectations by providing outstanding customer service
  • Provides leadership, direction and mentoring to the sites security teams while providing continuous coaching for success to achieve high performance
  • Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, regulatory bodies, management, and team members
  • Motivate and inspire a team of supervisors who will enhance the guest experience and a team who see themselves within the entertainment business
  • Identify suspicious behaviours /transactions and make sound judgments
  • Implements security operations strategic plans
  • Understanding the management of the site security budget; reports variances; makes recommendations
  • Responsible for key performances measures of operating areas
- financial, employee engagement, turnover, Guest Service Experience Index (GSEI), etc.

  • Oversees the various critical security systems (e.g., Key Control, I-Trak, Facial Recognition)
  • Develop and implement training for each site's security operations, including Emergency Response Procedures
  • Implements sitespecific tactical responses to emergency events along with fire drill procedure throughout the year for each site
  • Reviews each site's reports on violations, unsafe conditions, potential hazards, suspicious persons and activities and identifies the need for investigations and conducts as directed
  • Oversees the regional First Aid Program; reviews First Aid reports; ensures First Aid staff are appropriately trained and scheduled
  • Acts as the main point of contact with regulatory bodies on security issues at assigned sites
  • Champion of workplace health, safety, and wellness with a focus on employee education & training, workplace inspections and accident prevention not reaction
  • Anticipates operational and service issues before they escalate, troubleshoots and resolves guest concerns before they are complaints
  • Conducts ongoing risk assessments for each site; identifies areas of practice or equipment that meet security best practices; identifies opportunities for efficiencies
  • Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Ensuring compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Oversee departmental schedules to ensure efficiencies are met
  • Developing performance objectives and delivering performance evaluations for direct reports
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed

  • Drive to be proactive and solutionoriented
  • Minimum 5 years of surveillance and/or security experience; minimum 5 years of management experience; gaming experience preferred
  • Postsecondary education or suitable combination of education and experience an asset
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective, and service oriented communication
  • Computer literacy in MS Office
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Smart Serve certificate
  • Required to maintain a current AMFR certification
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Category 1 Gaming Assistant license through the Alcohol & Gaming Commission of Ontario
  • Astute selfawareness when communicating with team members and guests
  • A willingness to learn, develop and achieve new skills for personal and professional development
